SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam Pattern 2023
Tier-I will include Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with questions presented in both English and Hindi, excluding English Comprehension.
Negative marking of 0.50 will be applicable for each incorrect response.
The time duration for the Tier-I exam is 1 hour, and for candidates eligible for a scribe, it is extended to 1 hour and 20 minutes.

SSC CGL Tier-2 Exam Pattern 2023
Tier-II will involve the administration of Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III on separate shifts/days.
Paper-I is mandatory for all positions.
Paper-II is exclusively for candidates applying for the Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) posts in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, shortlisted in Tier-I for these posts.
Paper-III is for candidates shortlisted in Tier-I for Paper-III, specifically for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer.
Paper-I will be conducted in two sessions, namely Session-I and Session-II, on the same day. Session-I includes Section-I, Section-II, and Module-I of Section-III, with a duration of 2 hours and 15 minutes. Session-II encompasses Module-II of Section-III, lasting for 15 minutes.
It is mandatory for candidates to qualify all sections of Paper-I.
Tier-II (Paper-I, Paper-II & Paper-III) will comprise Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions, except for Module-II of Section-III in Paper-I. Questions will be in both English and Hindi, excluding the English Language and Comprehension module in Section-II of Paper-I.
Negative marking of 1 mark per wrong answer in Section-I, Section-II, and Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I, and 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II and Paper-III.
Module-II of Section-III in Paper-I, i.e., Data Entry Speed Test (DEST), will entail conducting a Data Entry Speed Test for 15 minutes in Session-II on the same day.
The “Data Entry Speed Test” (DEST) Skill Test involves typing a passage of approximately 2000 key depressions within 15 minutes. Regional Offices of the Commission will provide detailed instructions regarding the Skill Test.
